Which plan do I need?
Count your staff and resources first. That number decides the plan more than anything else.
- FreeOne person, up to 20 bookings a month, and a small powered-by line on the picker is fine.
- StarterOne or two people who want deposits, SMS reminders or the branding gone.
- GrowthUp to eight staff or resources, a till, group classes, or Google Calendar for each person.
- ProMore than eight staff or resources, or priority support.
Every plan, side by side
Plans change how much you can book, how many people or rooms you run and how many texts you send. They never change whether a booking is correct.

How staff and resources are counted
A resource is anything with its own calendar that can only be in one place at a time. Plan limits count all of them.
Staff are resources. So are treatment rooms, chairs, courts, bikes, kayaks and specific pieces of equipment. A service can need more than one at once, which is how a clinic treatment is only offered when both the practitioner and the room are free.
- A one-chair salon with one stylist is one resource: Free or Starter.
- A two-chair barber shop with two barbers is two: Starter.
- A clinic with three practitioners and two treatment rooms is five: Growth.
- A hire business with ten individually bookable bikes is ten: Pro.
If your items are interchangeable and you never need to know which specific one went out, you can model fewer resources and let customers take any available. That keeps you on a lower plan at the cost of not tracking individual kit.
What happens at the limits
Fewer surprises after install. This is what the app does when a plan limit is reached.
Free reaches 20 bookings
New online bookings pause and the picker shows a clear message. The picker stays on the page, so nobody can buy a service without a time attached. Existing bookings are untouched.
The SMS allowance runs out
Texts pause and email reminders carry on. The app warns you before you get there. Top-ups are bought once through Shopify and never expire.
Nothing else is gated
Conflict checking, holds, buffers, per-person hours and time off are on every plan. Plans limit volume, resources and texts, never correctness.
Billing questions
How is Booking Slot billed?
Through Shopify. Your plan appears on your normal Shopify invoice alongside your Shopify subscription, in pounds, and SMS top-ups appear there as one-time charges. There is no separate card to enter and no separate invoice to reconcile.
Is there a free trial?
Every paid plan comes with a 14-day free trial, so you can test deposits, SMS reminders or booking at the till before you are charged. The Free plan does not need one: there is no card to enter and no expiry, and you can stay on it for as long as you fit inside its limits.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes. Upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time from the Plan and billing tab inside the app. Uninstalling the app also ends the subscription. If you move down to a plan with fewer resources than you have, your oldest resources stay bookable and the rest stop taking bookings until you remove them or move back up.
Do you take a percentage of my bookings?
No. Each plan is a flat monthly price set by how many staff or resources you run. There is no per-booking fee and no share of your booking revenue, so a busy month costs the same as a quiet one. Customers pay through your normal Shopify checkout, where Shopify's usual payment fees apply exactly as they do to any other order.
What counts as a resource?
Anything with its own calendar that can only be in one place at a time: a member of staff, a treatment room, a chair, a court, a bike. Plan limits count all of them. A two-chair barber shop with two barbers is two resources. A clinic with three practitioners and two treatment rooms is five, so it needs Growth.
What happens when the Free plan reaches 20 bookings in a month?
New online bookings pause and the picker shows a clear message saying so. The picker stays on your product pages, so nobody can add a service to their cart without a time attached, and your existing bookings carry on as normal. You upgrade when you decide to, not because your product pages broke.
What happens if I use up my SMS allowance?
SMS pauses and email reminders carry on, so no booking is affected. The app warns you as you approach the allowance. Top-ups are £4.99 for 100 messages or £19.99 for 500, bought once through Shopify, and they never expire, so a balance left over from a busy month is still there the next month.
Do you charge VAT on the subscription?
Shopify handles tax on app charges according to your store's location and tax settings, so the subscription appears on your normal Shopify invoice with tax treated correctly for where you are. The prices on this page are the same figure every month.
