A Shopify booking app built in the UK, priced in pounds
Most Shopify booking apps are priced in dollars and hosted in the US. That is fine until you write your privacy policy, reconcile your card statement or need someone on UK time. Booking Slot is built in Cheshire, hosted in London and billed in pounds through Shopify.

Why hosting location shows up in your paperwork
Most Shopify booking apps are built in the US and hosted there. For a UK merchant that is usually fine right up until someone asks you a question you have to answer in writing.
Your privacy policy has to name your processors and say where customer data goes. If your booking app stores names, phone numbers and appointment times on US servers, that is an international transfer, and you need the paperwork to back it. For a salon or a clinic that is a conversation with a solicitor you did not budget for.
Booking Slot stores every booking in Firestore in europe-west2, which is Google Cloud's London region. Your data processing agreement is section 12 of the privacy policy and applies automatically to every merchant, so there is nothing to sign and nothing to chase.
Pricing in pounds, which is less trivial than it sounds
A dollar-priced app on your Shopify invoice is a number that changes every month for reasons that have nothing to do with you. Twenty-nine dollars is twenty-two pounds one month and twenty-four the next.
That matters twice. It makes the app impossible to budget, and it makes your bookkeeping messier, because the figure you wrote down is never the figure that landed.
Flat pricing in pounds means the line on your Shopify invoice is identical every month. Fourteen ninety-nine is fourteen ninety-nine in February and in December.
UK SMS, and why international rates catch people out
Reminder texts are the cheapest way to cut no-shows, and they are also where a US-built app quietly becomes expensive. Many price per message at US domestic rates and treat a UK mobile as international.
Booking Slot includes a UK SMS allowance in every paid plan: fifty a month on Starter, two hundred and fifty on Growth, a thousand on Pro. Top-ups are four ninety-nine per hundred when a busy month runs you short, and they do not expire.
If you serve customers outside the UK, international delivery is available on request rather than by default, so you are not paying for reach you do not use.
Support from someone in the same time zone
A support queue eight hours behind you means a problem on Saturday morning gets answered Monday afternoon. For a business taking bookings at the weekend that is the whole weekend.
Booking Slot is built and supported from Cheshire by the developer. Email on a working day gets an answer from the person who wrote the code, not a first-line script. The trade is that there is no 24/7 phone line, which is the honest version of what a small UK software business can offer.
DadLink Technologies Limited is registered in England and Wales, company number 16161444, which means if something goes wrong you know exactly who you are dealing with and where.
Questions about Shopify booking app UK
Are you a UK company?
Yes. Booking Slot is built and operated by DadLink Technologies Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 16161444, based in Cheshire. That is worth knowing for two reasons. It means your contract and your data processing agreement are governed by UK law rather than a foreign jurisdiction, which simplifies your own compliance paperwork considerably. And it means support comes from the person who wrote the code, in your time zone, rather than a first-line script eight hours behind you.
Do you charge VAT on the subscription?
Shopify handles tax on app charges according to your store's location and your tax settings, so the subscription appears on your normal Shopify invoice with tax treated correctly for where you are. You do not pay us separately or set anything up: app charges run through Shopify's billing, which means one invoice, one payment method and one place in your books. The prices quoted on this site are in pounds and are the same figure every month, unlike a dollar-priced app that moves with the exchange rate.
Can stores outside the UK use Booking Slot?
Yes. The app works on any Shopify store in any country, and the booking engine has no UK-specific behaviour. Two things are UK-first by default: billing is in pounds, and SMS reminders are set up for UK mobiles. International SMS delivery is available on request rather than enabled by default, so a UK-only business is not paying for reach it does not use. If you are outside the UK and need reminders to local numbers, get in touch before installing and we will tell you straight whether it works for your market.
Where is the data stored and backed up?
Every booking lives in Firestore in europe-west2, which is Google Cloud's London region, and backups stay within Google Cloud's UK infrastructure. For a UK merchant that keeps the question of international data transfers off your privacy policy entirely, which saves a conversation with a solicitor that nobody budgets for. Our data processing agreement is section 12 of the privacy policy and applies automatically to every merchant, so there is nothing to request, sign or chase, and it names every processor in the chain.
